"Our son has been at Baby Steps for over a year and he loves it! Za is so great with the kids. She’s organized, communicative, clean, and compassionate. She creates toy activities for them to do everyday (building towers, trains, puzzles, etc.), does story time, has dance parties, outside play time, and more. She really understands and enjoys working with babies and toddlers. Her nursing experience helps us to feel confident that our son with food allergies and asthma is in good hands. I highly recommend Baby Steps!!"

"We are very happy we found this place and our daughter had a wonderful experience there for 1.5 yrs . Za is a wonderful person and she takes very good care , nurtures them very well and is very friendly with kids. We started Za's daycare when my daughter was 18 months old and she made sure the transition was very smooth . She has 3 different outdoor play areas , provides organic meals , keeps the place very clean and has a very enriching environment for the kids. Sometimes my kid would want to go to her daycare even during weekends - thats how good she is ! My daughter had the best times here truly misses her daycare , love and fun ."

"We had the best experience at Baby Steps...our daughter was with Za from eighteen months until she was three and a half, and it was so wonderful for her. Za is both professional and nurturing, a former nurse and a truly friendly person. Our daughter loves Za, as well as her daughter, and she made so many friends during her time there.
We've moved out of the area, but I am strongly tempted to make the horrible commute just so our second child could attend Baby Steps."

"Our daughter attended Baby Steps for almost two years and she absolutely loved it! A year after moving to the Bay Area I decided to go back to work and I knew the transition wouldn't be easier for her. We had visited other larger centers and home day cares but I would always leave with uncertainty about the care and attention she would receive. The moment we walked into Za's I just knew it was the right place.
Za is the best caregiver that any parent can ask for their children! She is so caring, loving and patient with the kids. Za's two kids are just wonderful. They are very sweet with the children. Our daughter loved to play with them and misses them a lot.
Baby Steps is in a safe and convenient location in San Mateo. It offers home-cooked meals, has dedicated nap area and lots of activities that engage the children. It has a good-size outdoor space where the kids can play with sand, water, and riding toys. It is a very nurturing and fun environment that was ideal for my daughter. Baby Steps was instrumental in her development and we all felt very sad that she had to leave to start preschool. At the same time, we knew she was ready for it.
We are so thankful to have found Za! Her love and dedication to the children are outstanding. Za and her kids are very special people who we will never forget! I would definitely recommend Baby Steps to any parent without hesitation."

"Where do I even begin? Za is an absolutely phenomenal care griver! A spot at Baby Steps opened up right when my husband and I were getting desperate about finding childcare for our one and a half year old and from the moment we met her, we knew she was the answer. She has such a calm, assured presence and a wonderful support to both her young clients and their parents. We always felt welcomed at Baby Steps and never once doubted that our son was getting high quality care.
Her home is clean, inviting, and very kid friendly. She keeps a predictable schedule for the children, while rotating them through various fun activities, balancing engaging outside time with quieter inside play. We also felt she went above and beyond to help our son learn and grow. She helped teach him colors, shapes, his alphabet, etc. Watching him blossom under her care was so rewarding!
Za also generously prepared healthy, balanced breakfasts and lunches for the children, along with great snacks. Throughout all the playing, eating, and napping, Za demonstrated her awesome ability to be flexible, proactive, and in-tune with the children.
One thing we really appreciated was her fantastic communication. Za was always well-prepared and gave us advanced notice about when she would be away from the daycare, even when she had a sub coming in for a couple of hours so she could step out on personal business. She always provided a verbal daily report on meals, naps, and moods, to help the transitions between daycare and home. Za was also always very gracious and prompt when exchanging text messages, particularly if we would check in sporadically about concerns with our son (teething updates, not feeling well, etc.).
Za's own children are also a fantastic perk of being at Baby Steps. They knew all of the kids and would make time to play with them, which was so fun to watch! Along with the family bunny, seeing her kids were my son's favorite part of the day! We feel so lucky that he was so well cared for by ALL of the family!
We recently left Baby Steps after a year with Za. Making that decision was one of the hardest parenting choices we have had to make so far. When a spot opened at a local preschool, we knew we needed to make the most of the opportunity, but it was difficult to leave knowing our son was so well take care of an loved at Baby Steps. The only challenge over our year there was the 8:00AM opening time, which was a little tight given the work hours my husband and I keep. That said, Za was always flexible and helpful on mornings when we had to be there right on the dot and was always ready to take right over when our son arrived.
The bottom line is, finding the right person to entrust your child to is not easy. I have always felt like you have to truly co-parent with your caregiver. I could not be more grateful for Za and Baby Steps. I appreciate the way she cared for my son as I would and they way she always supported my husband and I when were unsure about milestones, etc. Our son would walk up confidently to her front gate every morning and would be sad to leave in the afternoons. There is no better review than that! He would tell you that she's the BEST!"

"Za is great! She is such a blessing to us. My husband and I are first time parents so you can only imagined the stress we have to go through in finding the right place for our son.
We have visited a couple of places prior to baby steps but non has given us a sense of comfort like Za did. Za does not only offer an inviting and immaculate home, she is also an experienced childcare provider and a registered nurse--I mean, what more can you asked for? My son is 14 months old now and he has been under her care since he was 5 months old. He's been hitting all his milestone and is always looking forward to his day with Za and the other kids.
I know how hard and scary it is for us parents to find someone to care for our kids...I must've cried a million times when my husband and I decided to put our son in a daycare. I really prayed so hard that we'd get one that is not only experienced but will love and care for our son the way we do and we got that with Za!"

"I visited four big daycares before visiting Baby Steps and I realized how difficult finding a place with my wish list; clean, sunny, non-concrete play area (grass would be ideal), loving caregiver, and serving organic foods. Baby Steps has it all. The owner, Za is very joyful, pleasant, reliable and such a grounded person. I am so comfortable dropping off my little one knowing he will be in her good hands. I never had this peace of mind when I used other baby care arrangements and my little one is so lucky to be taken care of by Za every day."

"I could not be happier with Baby Steps for my son. Za is a loving, friendly, and professional caregiver that provides the highest standard of care as well as tasty organic food to the little ones. Drop off everyday is so easy since he genuinely loves to go to Baby Steps and play with Za and the very large selection of cool toys. The Baby Steps facility is always super clean and I could not honestly ask for more in a day care. If you are looking for a great in-home day care then look no further than Baby Steps."
