I grew up in a close, supportive family in a small rural town in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. I spent much of my childhood outdoors, exploring the surrounding forests, helping in the garden, and caring for a wide range of animals. These early experiences shaped my natural connection to caregiving. The photo here is of me at age 4, cradling my favorite cat, who let me dress him in baby onesies.
I started babysitting at 13 and continued working with children throughout high school and college. While earning my nursing degree, I also worked as a nanny and medical assistant.
After graduating from San Francisco State University, I worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and postpartum care at Mills-Peninsula and Sutter. Those years gave me a strong foundation and deepened my knowledge of infant and family care.
A turning point in my life led me to step away from bedside nursing and create a more grounded, family-centered path, one that became the foundation for Baby Steps.
My California RN license is active, and I am certified in Pediatric/Infant CPR and First Aid.
I have two children, Jaydon (22) and Nina (18), and we share our home with one sweet bunny, Benjamin, and three sweet kitties, Timothee, Tilly, and Phoebe.
